The latest installment of David Dust's heavenly Afternoon Dance Break series got me looking at the lists of number one dance singles . . . 1994, 1993, 1992 . . . look at all those songs we danced to at the Vortex, Manhole, Roscoe's, etc. Maybe we all romanticize our twenties, but I sure did love the 90s! (OK, yes, some of my 20s were in the 80s.)
The #1 single per the July 11, 1992 issue of Billboard was "Surrender Yourself" by The Daou. The Daou, of course, was Peter and Vanessa Daou.
That's this Peter Daou. Oh, and by the way, he's Erica Jong's nephew (per Wikipedia).
